Wedding shenanigans

June 7th, 2014 my handsome boyfriend asked me to marry him. I SAID YES!!!!

So the wedding prep began...for the next 9 months we planned, bought, planned, cried, bought and cried some more. (cried from the stress and amount spending @ Hobby Lobby)

I knew I wanted a outside, rustic/shabby chic wedding and planned on making most of the decor. (and we did)

In the next few blogs I will be posting pictures and links to the things we created! (THANK GOD FOR PINTEREST)

Red, burlap and blue

I like to make random wreaths (even through I already have way too many ). This is one of my favorites so far. I have no tutorial website or pictures... it was kinda spur of the moment! (don't mind the June bug on the wreath)

The tutorial I used for the flowers

The bow at the bottom is optional, I created that at the last minute. It  looks a little floppy at the moment.

Supplies needed
  • 8" Natural Grapevine Wreath
  • Red Chevron 5" Burlap
  • Denim Wired Ribbon
  • 6" Red Burlap Spool
  • Glue Gun & Sticks
  • Scissors
  • Wire Cutters

I bought my supplies at hobby lobby (when they were having a major sale)

Texas, My Texas!

My Texas pride wreath I made for the summer

Here is the tutorial I followed

I measured my strips by eye not by ruler. I cut the bandana long ways then hot glued one end to the foam circle then wrapped it with the bandana till the bandana ran out (repeat all colors). I did not like how it looked when the colors changed so I end up cutting a small strip and twirling it to make it roped. then I hot glued that around the wreath. I wanted to make my Texas wreath to look more like the Texas flag so I put a silver star on the blue bandana part, like the flag!

Supplies needed
  • Red white and Blue bandana (I used 1 of each color) (depends on how big you want it)
  • Circle foam base
  • Silver Star
  • glue gun & sticks
  • Scissors
